Over the course of the past two months, I haven’t set any goals. I made an immediate decision to set some things that I had planned on, to work on doing small things to enhance my marriage (more on that later). Sometimes, it is necessary to set aside some of the **want** things that should happen and refocus on the areas that are a need.
With that being said, I have determined that goals for the month of November!
WEEKLY DATE NIGHT
This is an essential part of our marriage. We had previously gotten so busy that other things came before our marriage. While I love being busy and love being a mom. My marriage comes first. A happy and successful marriage is the key to a happy family. Andrew and I started a deep love class through our church. We took an assessment (here) that also had questions under each labeled category before starting the class. The assessment includes an action plan that makes it a weekly category to include with a date night. Our first date night this month was to the pumpkin patch, dinner and the coffee shop. I love dating my husband and I can’t wait for our date night this week and to continue it on every week.
GET UP EARLIER
When I say earlier, I really mean 4am. Yep, 4am. As most of you know, I have to be out of my house at 6:30-6:40am for my hour morning commute to my office. Because I have been really struggling trying to make it to the gym at night, I am forcing (lovingly) myself to get up at 4am to head out to the gym and get my day started on a positive note. This is actually one thing that I am super excited for. My health is becoming my top priority and this is something that has to be a priority. But truly, I am excited that I get to be old lady and go to bed early.
START COUCH TO 5K PROGRAM
When I first started on my weight loss journey, I found it easier having some sort of a goal. While I still hate running, I think having a cardio goal (which I also hate-in any form) will help stimulate me in the gym and help guide me to where I should go and if powerlifting is still in the cards for me. So, re-starting the couch to 5k program should prove to be interesting but invigorating at the same time.
I have to say, I am really excited for these goals and they will definitely help me ring in my birthday month. I am hoping they will also help me continue to be intentional in all areas of my life. I hope everyone has an amazing month!
