A morning routine can set the mood and the success for the entire day. If you find yourself waking up and already full of anxiety about getting out of the house on time then this list may be just what you need to appreciate the morning just a little more.
-Wake up Earlier. Now, call me a genius but if you are always fighting out the door and peeling out of the drive, wouldn’t waking up earlier be a good solution? Just a thought.
-Get out of bed to turn off the alarm. It is easy to hit the snooze when you are in bed, and stay in bed. However, if you have to get out of bed and feel the cool air, it may be inclined to wake you a little and help you re-think the decision to crawl under the covers.
-Stretch/meditate. Giving a big stretch after you have stood up and just being in silence for even just two minutes can help the mind remain calm and positive.
-Eat breakfast. In accompaniment with breakfast, drink a large glass of water. Breakfast and water are wonderful ways to help your body stay full and boosts the metabolism to help get you through lunch. After all, no one likes the hangry person in the lunch room.
-Make your bed. Even if you have had a terrible no good, very bad day. There is something refreshing coming home to a perfectly made bed. Sometimes I feel like when all goes wrong, I still know I have my life together when my bed is made.
-Positive affirmations. Stand in front of the mirror when you are brushing your teeth and think positive thoughts. Remind yourself that you are loved, human and a beautiful soul.
-Journal. If only for two minutes. Write down your thoughts, dreams, wishes and hopes. Journaling is a wonderful morning and night recap.
If you are doing all of these, or none of these things, they are valuable. They provide a positive mind and promote a generous morning. And if nothing else, you did life this morning and knocked it out of the ball park. Nobody can tell you otherwise.
