Fall has officially begun! This means that a whole new level of busy, craziness, and mayhem will occur! Staying positive and always having a plan is my main focus for this next month! It doesn’t make much sense to me to be disorganized when our little family is the busiest that we have been AND work is increasingly getting busier. Here is my September break down.
WHAT I DID DO!
1.Followed the Happy Planner. There have been times where I sit down on a Sunday and create a weekly or monthly plan. That’s how far it goes. September was a very busy month; therefore I could not just make a plan in my Happy Planner and leave it sit. I knew that I would be destined to forget something.
2.Actively Recycle. Our community has recycling and I have wanted to minimize our waste in our trash can for quite some time. This month, I got my family on board to utilize the recycling bin and now in the month of October, we are going to transition to no trash can in our home. If you are curious, you can read more about what I mean here, here, and here.
3.Read More! Last month, I struggled to fit in the two books that I did manage to read. This month, however, we have been smooth sailing in that department. Lunch breaks, night time, any chance I can get, I am reading.
WHAT I DIDN’T DO!
1.Stress over housework. I have decided that if something satisfies me and my family more than cleaning the house, I am not going to stress over it. It really isn’t worth getting everyone in frenzy. I am learning to let go of always wanting a super clean museum-like house. This has proven to be a challenge and sometimes I still get stressed BUT I am working hard at appreciating other things.
2.Worry about things I can’t control. There are some things in life that are never going to be within the power of control. And, if we are being honest, that is just fine.
3.Finish my dresser project. I really wanted to finish this dresser project that I was working on but going thrifting and antiquing with the hubs was just far too important. J
WHAT I LEARNED!
1.The farmer’s market is lovely. Sadly, this was the first weekend that I have had time to make it down to my hometown’s farmer’s market and it was absolutely lovely. I wish I had taken pictures but then part of me just felt the delight of soaking in all that it had to offer.
2.Piano makes my girl happy. Daniella had her first of many piano lessons this month and she still (5 days later) has a smile on her face and is radiating happiness. I was a little shy at starting her on piano because she is already a perfectionist and sometimes that can be a dangerous thing. However, seeing her heart happy makes me happy.
3.I take on too many projects. Seriously. You should see my garage. I have so many projects that I want to get done. I am glad that I took this weekend but there are things that need to be stained and painted before winter comes. Full speed ahead.
So there is my month of September in a nut shell. I hope that you consider reading the articles on the “no trash can” method and also contributing in your area to local farmers at your farmer’s market.
