This month I gave myself permission to use the start of this year to relax and really reflect on the 2016 findings to help me bring 2017 into the direction I wanted it to go. While being a little relaxed in some areas, I continued to be tenacious in others.

THINGS I DID DO!
  1. All myself just to be. I didn’t expect or make any goals this month other than just be. I did this so I could really realign my focus into what I wanted 2017 to be about and carve out the details to my goals.
  2. Got back on the smooth road with training. Up until this point, I found myself always mentally struggling with the weight I was moving. Doubting myself. However, this month, I have really found the high through lifting and it has been terrific.
  3. Put 2016 officially behind me and filed my taxes. Isn’t that the dreaded final chore of the previous year before? Filing taxes. I just find it to be a daunting task.
THINGS I DIDN’T DO!
  1. Take those pesky things to Goodwill. I have ha things stock piled to go to donation and for some reason or another; they haven’t made the car ride.
  2. Stretch as often as I should have. I am really bad at this and darn it, I WILL make it happen this month.
  3. Put my goals in a visible place in my office. Another thing to add to my list this month with stretching!
THINGS I LEARNED!
  1. Don’t expect to receive back what you put out. This is just reality. This is just how it goes and that, my friends, is ok.
  2. I am stronger than I ever gave credit to myself for. Once I realized this, I have been on fire and loving the gym so much more!
  3. It is just fine to take a break from life. Sometimes, you just need a well-deserved break from people, life, things. Take that break.

I hope that you found the first month of 2017 treating you well, or you have channeled this things you have or have not done and thing you have learned to make progress this next month!
