As the weather gets colder, the worse my rosacea gets and the more self-conscious I am about it. However, this fall, I found some really good make-up favorites that have become my confidence booster!
Typically, when my rosacea flares up I have to conceal with a green tinted concealer or go cake face with the foundation. I have found the perfect trick to conceal it without having to pile it on or layer on a green concealer.
I use to be a huge fan of this Maybelline Fit Me foundation, which I still love, but I found myself wanting to try something new. I’m not sure where this L’Oreal True Match has been all my life but we are besties. I take two to three dabs on my face, and then I include a few drops of this NYX Can’t Stop Won't Stop on top of my lotioned skin, no primer with a beauty blender and it blends like a dream! Speaking of beauty blenders, have you tried this Miracle Complexion Body Sponge from Real Techniques? It applies foundation so fast!
My all-time favorite, no matter the season for concealer under my old bags is the Tarte Shape Tape. I have yet to find one that can top it so if you have one, please let me know. It blends out so nice and provides me with the best coverage since I have circles deeper and darker than the milky way.
I use two setting powders, this NYX banana powder to set the Tarte concealer and then this Bye Bye Pores Illumination by IT Cosmetics. I use to use whatever I had on hand , then I discovered no matter how good my foundation looked before, it would end up looking horrendous until I found this setting powder. I am now a lifer. It makes my skin look and feel healthy and glowing.
I am not a huge fan of contouring but I do like to define my face a little. This butter bronzer from Physicians Formula is perfect for my light skin and warms me up just enough without making me look muddy.
I received a Tarte Blush in a birthday perk from Ulta last year and I haven't put it down since. I will link the type of blush it is here in a similar shade. It matches every look and has been with me through multiple seasons. A little bit goes a long way and for having this blush for almost a year, it still looks like I barely put a brush in it.
This is by far the cheapest and natural looking highlighter I have found. I am absolutely head over heels for this highlight and it, again is another product that goes well with anything. Thank you Essence Pure Nude Highlighter.
My eyebrows are my most favorite feature and they really are the frame for the face. My favorites for this are the Anastasia Brow Wiz in medium brown and this NYX brow mascara in Chocolate. I have tried other brow pencils and trust me when I tell you the brow wiz is worth the price. It stays all day and is easy to create brow like hairs throughout the brow. The NYX mascara also does a really great job at setting hairs in place.
I have been rocking this Urban Decay Naked2 basics pallete since it came out and I still love it. I take it when I travel and it is the first thing I grab when I need something quick to throw on my eyes. Most days, I go naked (no pun intended) on the eye but for special events or when I want a pick me up, this one is my go-to.
Let me tell you a quick story about my eye lashes. They are long and they are thick. So, even when I don’t have mascara on, they still look good. Sorry, not sorry. However, every, single, mascara. transfers. Every one. And I cannot for the life of me, figure out why. Some say it is because my lashes are oily, others say it is my skin below my eye. Either way, I have tried at least fifty different mascaras and I’m not even kidding. From MAC, to L'Oreal, to Nars All regular and Waterproof. Until now. This Covergirl Professional water proof mascara has taken the cake and so God help me if it ever goes away from online availability. Not only does it not move, when I do want to take it off, it does come off very nicely and doesn't pull on my lashes.
To wrap everything up, this Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray lives up to its name. The beautiful thing is that it does not transfer and after I get done bathing in it, I take my complexion body sponge one more time and press it into the skin. This gives my face the perfect natural look.
I never really wear anything other than liquid lips, especially during the work week. I simply don't have time to reapply so the liquid lips help this sister out. My favorite drug store brand of liquid lip is the Maybelline Super Stay and my favorite high end are the Kat Von D. Both of these, by themselves do not require a liner but I also use one just because I like the way it looks. These NYX lip pencils are my favorite.
Many cold months before, I would be spending a lot of time trying to conceal and hide my rosacea only to hinder how long putting on makeup was supposed to take. Now, with my new ritual with the L’Oreal and the NYX, it has cut my time in half. I truly love not having to spend my life savings on it either.
